I have "rooted" my phone and this gives me, as I am sure you know, access to many things most users don't realize are there.
I can see all apps and ALL of the resources they use and how much as well as many other things at a much more finite level.
This app continually updates the GPS position in the background and hogs memory too. This is not necessary. Other apps I have that use the GPS function do so with smart programming, waiting in the background and not running the gps function all of the time. The few that do still don't run the battery down like this app did.
This is an issue of how the app handles resources. It is a very inefficient one for sure.
