I guess after a review of my original post, I get the confusion. In my attempt to be concise, several omissions caused disjointed thoughts. It was a terrible ten days and I'm trying not to relive them
CAUSE: disconnection of exhaust pipe from itself
EFFECT: shut down all batteries, engine, instruments and MAIN big red button in battery compartment. For approx five miles we looked for big exit as I THOUGHT I saw rolling smoke back in my bedroom but going back there. Could not see anything
Tow truck driver open battery bays, pushed the big red main button, everything restarted but could not see cause on side of road.
Next day towed us to Canton a Truck Repaur, a Good Sam recommendation. Within a day, diagnosis was the exhaust coming away from itself heated wiring, batteries, engine, hydraulics to 400 degrees.
I'm sure I probably am missing many things for a viable explanation. I already know much more than I ever needed to. The repair guys all talked directly with GS extended plan.
