A/C Sparks = Fire Hazard
I have had the GSESP Gold Plan on my 2004 Safari Zanzibar for several years.
Last year I had a bad “chatter” in the front Dometic Penguin heat pump fan. The fan blades were contacting the metal housing and I was afraid if not fixed, it may cause a fire. The shop where I took it routinely handles GSESP work said the claim was refused because the a/c was not “broken” and repairable.
I paid a significant amount to get this repaired; however, this spring the same “chatter” has returned. The shop says the claim may still be refused, but if the a/c is replaced, the entire electronic system will have to be replaced because the new units utilize different technology.
I have 2 questions: (1) now that I have paid for repairs that did not work, will GSESP replace this defective a/c? And if so, (2) will GSESP pay for the electronic system conversion required for the a/c replacement?
Thanks for your response.
