This is very interesting. I have Good Sam / NG insurance on our motorhome.
I too asked when I signed up 2 years ago if there would be any cancellation fees and was told there could be a $50 fee, and I see it is stated on the declarations page.
But nothing was said about not returning the premiums already paid. It didn't occur to me to ask this, as all my auto policies had refunded prorated premiums from the date of cancelation/change.
I see the same wording in my policy about refunds "if any," being according to their manuals.
However I also have an "Ohio" endorsement which has a different wording: "If this policy is cancelled, you may be entitled to
a premium refund. If so, prior to the effective date of cancellation, we will tender to you the premium refund due. The premium refund, if
any, will be computed on a pro-rata basis."
One other thing, both the original policy and the endorsement state that if you obtain other insurance on the vehicle, that is an automatic cancellation of the NG insurance by them.
OP, let us know how it turns out.
I sure would hope that if you sell your RV, they would refund what you had paid for the remainder of the period. (Or if you move to a state when they don't do business or if they terminate you for some other reason.)
