I wonder if this is because you told them you got other insurance and once you did that, they did their cancellation due to that.
I think you said you did not tell them you sold the RV. I wonder if this would have made a difference, maybe then you would have gotten some money back. Seems hard to believe a company would keep so much money on something that was no longer yours, or that the state insurance commission would let that happen.
That may be the lesson for all of us with NG insurance, don't use the word "cancel", just call when it is sold.
