burned piston rings

I have the extended warranty and my car is currently in the shop. They said one of my cylynders was dead and had burned piston rings. Waiting to hear back tomorrow but was just wondering as far as coverage goes. Tried finding a coverage section on the site but didnt see one, mines in my car. Its a 2014 jetta se with about 72-74 thousand miles.

    was that covered under the Good Sam Extended Service Plan policy or not..

    Huummmm, did they say what caused it? I wonder what shape the cylinder is in? Is it time to cliff it?
