Buy A Tire or No Help

Thanks floridaguy for your post. To clarify, Good Sam Roadside handles RV tire calls in 2 ways: if you have a good inflated spare, and if you don't ( or if you blow out 2 or more tires). In the first example, we dispatch a provider to your location to remove the bad tire and replace it with your spare. In scenario 2, we dispatch a mobile heavy duty tire truck, with tire(s) to your location in order to dismount the bad tire and mount a new tire(s) in its place. In this case, we pay for the service call to bring the tires to your location, and you are responsible for parts and labor (mounting and the tire itself, valve stem, etc).

Maybe I didn't explain myself well. I have that problem. I don't mind getting my hands dirty. You can't get the extension off with the outer tire on. there is not enough space between the duals to get a wrench on the extension. The roadside assistance I did get took the outer tire off. But Jake, thanks for the help. I didn't ask how to get the extension off. I asked questions about Good Sams and Coach-Net. I can see I just should call both organizations with my questions.

That probably works on a Silverado, but on my motorhome, to get reasonable access to the inner dual valve, the outer wheel must be removed. I did get assistance and that's the way they repaired the extender.

Yep, I understand how Dual tires work,, If you suspected the extension,,and you had a compressor,, blow the tire up close to what you need,,remove extension in question. If it holds air,, YEP extension!! , If not,, call for assistance!
I drove truck for allot of years and I was prepared,, had spare stuff and hand tools. If you don't want your hands to get dirty,,, Write the check!!

And yes, I'll call Coach-Net and ask them.

My original questions were: Is this a recent change that Good Sams requires you to purchase a tire before they dispatch assistance. And #2..does Coach-Net have the same policy.

When I had my MH I had the same thing happened and they sent a guy out checked the tire it was the extender, removed it put air in it and he was on his way paid Good Sam $89 for the service trip

In years past, they would ask your tire size and bring a new tire just in case you needed one. It would probably not be the same manufacturer but the right size. They didn't just want me to have a replacement tire, they wanted it inflated on a rim or I had to buy a new tire. Like most of us, I'm not a spring chicken anymore and 22.5 inch tires are a bear to work with and that's why I have a road side assistance plan.
