Sometimes a campground doesn't meet my wife's and my personal preference so we pull out the rating form and try to rate it ourselves. The criteria spelled out in the GS directory depend very little on personal opinion. Sometimes we will disagree on whether something is clean or adequate but the criteria are very objective and leave little room for subjective opinion. Whenever we've done this, we come out within one or two points of the rating in the book. I actually prefer this system over something like rvparkreviews since the personal opinion is left out. Resort type parks get high points because of a pool, rec hall, playground, grassy spaces, etc.
FWIW our ideal park is something like a 6/8*/6. I don't need a pool or rec hall but a clean shower is a must.
