Customer Centric

Just a thought: A number of the readers on this forum, as well as others who don't frequent the internet, are customers of several of your product offers.

For example, in addition to paying for my annual Good Sam membership, I also have your Roadside Assistance insurance, and your Travel Assist insurance. In total, these offerings aren't inexpensive, but it was my choice to choose them.

In light of that, and as a former business leader, we would remind you that your customers appreciate any incentive that puts money back into our pockets. For example, CLP's, i.e. Customer Loyalty Programs, are designed to do exactly that. Might I recommend, then, that those of us purchasing multipe policies from Good Sam be rewarded with some type of discount for these purchases. I'm certain this isn't an original suggestion, and if not, it still bears repeating.

Thank you for any consideration.

  • I made the same suggestion about 2 years ago. It fell to deaf ears that time maybe yours will get some where. I still think it would be a great idea as the cost would be so small.

The intent of customer loyalty programs is to actually cement the association between the vendor and the purchaser. The "give back" is the glue that makes the program work. Additionally the vendor gets super information regarding the buying habits of the members individually, by groups and demographically. The original loyalty program was the patronage dividend allocated by retail co-operatives and credit unions based on the patronage of the member. Normally this annual pat div is paid in cash, shares or some combination of both.
