Am I the only one that sees this as VERY deceptive marketing. Received a RENEWAL notice from Good Sam club. Luckily I saw it before my wife, as she pays the bills.... so...whats the problem? I...

Our approach to renewal of membership is straightforward. We mail several direct notices to members starting about 120 days prior to expiration of membership. Many members choose to renew in advance of the expiration date to avoid lapse in membership. Others choose to wait until the membership is expiring. That’s okay. Our goal is to make sure you have ample time before the membership expires to get the notice and pay you futures dues.
We offer a number of different options to members; again you may choose to take advantage of these:
Auto-renewal
Pay your dues with a credit card. Select auto-renewal option. We’ll notify you about 60 days prior to expiration that you will be billed in the next 30 days for your membership. You can choose to continue and be billed or call us or send an e-mail to stop the billing. We offer this convenience at no charge and give you a discount on your dues now and in the future.
Mail Suppression
If you don’t wish to receive renewal notices (or specfcally any other mail from the company) you can opt out of any or all mail. WE honor your request. However, you will not be notified of your pending expiration.
E-mail Notifications
We also offer the opportunity to receive invoices by e-mail. You may register on-line with your e-mail address in order to receive these notices. You may choose to recive e-mail and no direct mail.
We do not engage in deceptive marketing. We feel we offer a number of choices to customize your preference. We only send notices to members when the membership is nearing expiration. You have the choice to pay 120 days or 1 day before the expiration. Over the past couple years we have significantly reduced the number of notices we send to members and haven shortened the time before expiration when our notices are sent to members. This seems to work for members.
