I am not currently a member and have not been for several years. IMHO the discounts received on camping in most cases are no different than those I receive as a AAA member. When I belonged the Highways magazine was ok, but more than offset by the extraordinary amount of junk mail that I got.
I was also a Presidents Club member at CW. I have given up on shopping there because I can match their prices most of the time at other RV parts dealers in the neighborhood. Also I dont have a sales guy following me around when I shop trying to sell me a Thousnd Trails membership.
A couple of weeks ago I had decided to purchase a Honda eu2000 and wanted to pick it up locally. CW's price was 999 for members. I called a local motorcycle dealer that was also a servicing dealer for Honda. Their price on the generator was a bit higher, but of course I didn't have to become a "member" to receive it. I told them what CW's price was and they matched it.
