Who walks away from their mail for 3 weeks- poor planning
In 1950 yes, maybe.
This is 2014 electronic wireless billing and communication is the norm. We specifically had a paperless auto pay and communication set up with this account. DW wife was a billing analyst and a billing software conversion project manager for CBS . She knows how electronic billing, billing conversions, due to acquisitions, and notifications such as this are supposed to work and is very diligent in monitoring our affairs. I am 99% sure what they did is legal. I am 100% sure that it is not good customer relations or service. No pre notice on any of their web sites, no email of up coming changes. We got a letter in the mail that looks pretty much like the other junk mail and solicitation mail GS/CW is infamous for.
Even if we would have been home the notice would have been a 14 day notice that existing account would be closed, inaccessible, and the history would be purged.
GS knows it customers travel and many have mail held and forwarded. GS offers a mail forwarding service. In my opinion GS does not have the needs of their clientele as their priority. Making a quick buck at their clients expense seems to be their company creed and objective.
I had high hopes for GS/CW. My experience makes it impossible to defend or recommend CW/GS.
