We have been Good Sam members for years along with having Road Side Assistance. I have been very happy with the club and the Road Side Assistance. My complaint is not with the service but the fact that the bills for renewal are sent out so early. We have received 3 notices that our dues are due and my membership card says it expires 01/31/2019 my Road side Assistance sent a bill saying it was due and my card says it expires 02/28/2019. Why in the world should I pay that many months in advance. We pay our bills on time usually a little early but 3 to 4 months is asking way to much in my opinion! I am tempted to check out Coach Net or some other service. My wife and I just had an argument because she wanted to pay it and I balked saying it wasn't due yet.

If you are silly enough to pay them six months ahead of time, they will be happy to take it.

Most of our members travel extended parts of the year so with this in mind we don't want our members to be out of service if and when needed. But never feel rushed to renew early. Sometimes you can receive a renewal offer that provides you a discount for the upcoming year. Members also have the option of setting up the membership in an auto-renew setting, by doing so you can save time and money. In reviewing your membership it looks like you are good till 2/28/2019 for the Roadside and 1/31/2019 for the club membership. I have a Emergency Roadside Service charge pending on one of my credit cards since Nov. 1. It expires on 3/19/2019. I have disputed it on my card Good San can wait until later IF I chose to renew with them.

Early renewals seems to be standard industry practice for any service that is on a subscription basis. They want your money early. Earlier this year, I bought a subscription to a national monthly magazine. In the second month, we received a bill for renewal, 10 months early. Been getting them every month now. I won't be renewing that one.

Geez, never give them access to your credit card or checking account for auto-renewal. You have little control over that. Challenging the charge (you still have to pay the charge while challenging) may not work, you gave your approval for the charge beforehand. DirecTV and Sirius are 2 of the worst for this.

Well, maybe I am too hasty in my previous post.

QUESTION for Good Sam Roadside Assistance....is my truck/camper considered a motorized RV, which requires Platinum ERS?....or is it just a pickup truck only, requiring Standard ERS?
I think I know the answer, but would appreciate a clarification on that.

Along with the way too early renewal letter, has anyone noticed that "STANDARD" membership cost of $119.95 does not cover MOTORIZED RV's. Only TOWABLE RV and AUTOS. You must now get the so called "PLATINUM" membership for $149.95 to cover MOTORIZED RV as well as towable rv and auto's.

This is noted in bold lettering and signed by Marcus Lemonis. This is a straght out money grab.

For me, in Canada, the $119.95 was $160.00 which was high but I sucked it up. Now, I am being strong armed into PLATINUM @$149.95 usd which becomes $200.00 cd.
This is over the top.....after many years of GS ERS, I am sorry to say that Marcus Lemonis and I are going to be parting company with a bad taste in my mouth.
