Just read my GEICO magazine over the weekend and they have ERS also. Also extended warranties. GEICO ERS was great when it was just having cars.
I got a 3 yr ERS with Good Sam to save some money, but like you they don't seem to be as helpful. We just came back from a 2 month trip and needed to call them several times. One time the operator suggested I check a few things first and talked me thru on what to do. I don't remember now what it was, but it turned out they still had to send someone out. Of course the two times we had to have work done, it was less than the deductible. I am taking it to my mechanic next month to fix the dash a/c.
When we first started driving in 2009, the operators we helpful to this beginner. I'm no expert since I do not go out as often as I would like.
