extended service insurance

Our TT is a 2006. We got a quote on extended service insurance because we are taking a 5 month trip. It was for $565 per Yr. and a $ 200 ded. Something I do not understand
in the quote. It states what is covered and also says excludes pre existing conditions known and unknown.

What does that mean ?

I asked the rep if there was a waiting period for service and he said no. What happens if say my air conditioner goes 2 days after I get the coverage? He said it would be covered. Why wouldn't they say it was pre existing because the unit is a 2006?

IMHO, it means that if they investigate the problem, they can say that the problem started months or years ago and refuse to pay. Use your AC example. If they find corrosion around the bad part, they can say pre-existing.

Don't ever believe what an extended warranty sales rep says. When you need to file a claim, you're dealing with somebody else. The sales rep's only job is to get you to part with your hard-earned money.

I am always very (!) leery of anything that states "unknown"

Geez, you can blame anything on the unknown...

Extended service insurance covers everything except what your filing it for.
