Finally Used It

This evening I had to call GSERS due to an air leak I could not find, and it was not moving from where it sat, could not build any air. Called, ask for a mobile mechanic, took about an hour to arrive, fixed it, and was on his way in a little over an hour and a half. It worked just as it should have.

  • The leak was at the compressor. I could find the air line, it was no longer attached to anything, but it tight in there, compressor and governor are between the frame and the block. I could not see what the line was hooked up to. The mobile guy climbed under, asked me if I wanted to come take a peek. I crawled under and he showed me where it went, and why it failed. Unfortunately it broke the fitting, he replaced it with a brass one, said I will never have a leak from there again. He had to reroute another hose that was rubbing against the air line fitting and blocked the view when I tried to see where it went, caused the failure.
  • I am glad to hear you got it fixed in a short time. Was it a leaking air line to the brakes? That can cause it to stop right here and right now. Pulling of the main drive lanes as quickly as possible is very important when a air leak happens. You might be stopping in as little as 200 feet!
