Frustrated about unforseen charges

Has anyone else encountered the following when using the Good Sam Extended Service Plan at Camping World:

I have my rig in getting several things fixed and I receive a call this morning stating that the extended warranty covers everything, I thought great! Then my service adviser states in addition to my $50 deductible, (which the finance guy told me at time of purchase is the ONLY thing I would pay if the issue is covered) he tells me I will still be charged shop fees and freight for the parts. Has anyone else been charged these items when using their extended warranty?

On my particular bill he said shop fees are 10% of the total price, for me that another 100.00 out of pocket and then whatever freight was for a replacement part. I took my rig to a non-camping world location for warranty service and all I was charged then was the $100 deductible (because not camping world) and NO shop fees or freight. Truly makes me believe Camping World is charging me extra for something I should not be charged on.

  • I had some extended warranty work performed at a CW. A long story, but the short is: They tried to stick us with diagnostic charges when troubleshooting the cause's.
3 items diagnoses 3 charges. $125.00 for each charge, or $375.00 total. We had a 50.00 deductible/copay. I told them that I would contact and complain to corporate about this and they decided to waive the fees.
We had already involved corporate in getting the work completed in the first place,as they had our camper for 3 mos.. We paid a 50.00 copay and promise not to return.
Contact a GS rep on the forum here and make them aware of your dilemma. Just make sure you understand the fine print in your EW as some have exclusions.

Ask for a detailed listing and prices for what 'shop fees' cover.

    Great idea
