While the fuel discount at Pilot is appreciated, for many of us, it's a benefit we cannot partake in. Why? Because we own gas motorhomes, or longer trailers being pulled by a truck fueled with gasoline, and Pilot has few provisions to accommodate our length.Diesel? No problem; just pull into their truck lanes. My 32' gas motorhome tows a full-size SUV, and of the three Pilot stations tried while on this current trip, none could handle my overall length. Even if I dropped the toad, it would have been iffy: Most of their fuel islands for gasoline don't run parallel to the highway.Loves, on the other hand, is a pleasant exception, or so it has been in my experience. Even at those locations where the gas pumps run at 90 degrees to the highway, the lanes are long and wide enough to allow our gasoline-fueled vehicles in and out. Perhaps you can negotiate a discount with them, too, so us gasser's have an option that works for us.Thank you.

Most of the Pilot/FJ we've been to have RV lanes with gasoline, diesel, propane and food. And there's the problem - inconsiderate cars and RVers that park at the pump and go inside for food.

X2 on getting discount with Loves. IMHO Loves is always nicer, cleaner and safer than Flying J.

Our MH is 36' with a toad. I don't seem to have any trouble getting in or out of FJ/Pilot

I have never had a problem gassing up at Flying J sometimes I have to wait my turn, just as those behind me have to wait theirs, and I do appreciate the discount at the pump especially with the Elite discount of .7 cents a gallon.

Never a problem with my GS Swipe & Save getting the 3 cents/gal discount right at the pump.

And before someone suggests they get more discount with their GS card read on.

In addition to the 3 cents/gal I also get 5% cash back on my CC. How does your GS card compare?

If I recall at the time of the FJ purchase there were some FJ locations that were independent and retained the name but may have different requirements/options. Perhaps something like that you might have encountered. Or just some GS/Pilot issue.

We have found in the independent truck stops that we can get the discount truckers price by going in and paying with a CC in the store.

I appreciate the thought but GS club is shown on the pump as a discount card that they honor; even with a picture.

There can be an "issue" with anything from time to time. The real problem is masking the actual approval so you can't TELL whether it is working or not.

Apparently it's being looked into for you. But I know immediately that my GS card is working because the price at the pump drops to 3 cents/gal less than the cash price. Then later I get 5% CC cash back off the charge from the CC company.

If you travel enough you will find that is the exception rather than the rule......at least on the east coast.

I have seen that happen exactly ONCE. All the other times you must "see your receipt" to see the price you actually paid......and sometimes you even must do the math to be sure.

There is NO EXCUSE for not telling you right on the little screen what is, or is not, happening. NONE.....except maybe stupidity or purposeful fraud.

Well every pump I've ever used shows the actual price. Works every time with my GS Swipe & Save card which BTW starts the pump.

The advantage of your card is that you don't have to go inside to pay while I do. But then my total discount is greater.
