I have brought this up before but apparently GS just doesn't get it. One of my 3 children got me a CW gift card for fathers day. I received it in the mail today. There is no indication who the card is from our how much the card is for. Guess GS thinks it is OK for me to ask which one of my kids got me the card and oh by the way - how much is it for? Every other business in the world has figured out how to do this. Maybe Marcus could ask one of his other companies how they do this and make it more user friendly. If GS still thinks this doesn't matter next year I'll ask for a Bass Pro gift certificate.

I'd LOVE to get one of their gift cards. But yes, I agree, how embarrassing it would be to have to ask around.

I'm not familiar with the GS gift card but reloadable cards never have a $ amount embossed on them. The $ amount is whatever the person decides at point of purchase.

If you go to the CW web site under Gift Cards theres a box to enter the cards # and it tells you the balance.

um, a general Thank you to whoever gave me this gift card would make for a perfect response to the family, and as stated, you can always look up the balance online. As far as the who it was from and amount via GS, valid point, others may not agree, but I get it. I have a card floating around that I have no clue how much is on it, nor where I got it from, and worse, when I look it up online, it doesn't tell me what the balance is, or what it was limited to. Now that is frustrating, especially for a universal Visa card.

At great sacrifice to myself and solely to do a favor for you, I will take this card off your hands. It won't do anything for me other than the satisfaction of knowing that I am able to relieve you of the headaches and the hassle of dealing with this unwanted and scorned piece of plastic.

I will even pay for the stamp and envelope.

Apparently you have misinterpreted my response. I was referring to the ability to answer your question by simply going to the web site and keying in the number on the gift card and miraculously the value on the card appears. As to where the card came from, that is hardly an issue for the vendor. Who handed it to you?

There is an old expression regarding appreciation, it goes "He would complain if he was hung with a new rope".

Maybe it is time for a new expression, how about, "He would complain if he received free money on an unmarked gift card". :B

Go to Lowes or Walmart and buy a gift card. Betcha the card doesn't show the value on the card. Just sayin'.
