gift card stupidity

I have brought this up before but apparently GS just doesn't get it. One of my 3 children got me a CW gift card for fathers day. I received it in the mail today. There is no indication who the card is from our how much the card is for. Guess GS thinks it is OK for me to ask which one of my kids got me the card and oh by the way - how much is it for? Every other business in the world has figured out how to do this. Maybe Marcus could ask one of his other companies how they do this and make it more user friendly. If GS still thinks this doesn't matter next year I'll ask for a Bass Pro gift certificate.
  • It shouldn't be a big deal to ask the kids you gave the card. Explain that it came without a name. Then check online how much it is for.

Next year give suggestions for another store. :)
  • first of all the gift card comes directly from CW so there is not the opportunity for the sender to make a note or include a card. Second gift cards purchased the same way from any number of retailers show the giver and the amount. This is absolutely ridiculous that CW can't get this right and include a note indicating the amount and sender in the envelope.
  • Seems like to me that whomever sent the gift card should have included a Fathers day card with their name on it, I do not see how CW can be blamed for this. ....The balance should be no problem I would think the cashier can scan it and tell you or go on line as stated and check.

  • I'm not familiar with the GS gift card but reloadable cards never have a $ amount embossed on them. The $ amount is whatever the person decides at point of purchase.
  • I'd LOVE to get one of their gift cards. But yes, I agree, how embarrassing it would be to have to ask around.
