Yes, the book is big and heavy and will tear in half if you pick it up wrong. As soon as I get the new one each year, I tape the binding laterally and vertically with duct tape. Holds together while in use in the RV. Two books would be nice but each would probably cost the same as the one big book due to production costs. However, perhaps GS could offer the books separately so we could buy the one covering the area where we expect to spend most of our time. Dividing the country along the Mississippi River would be logical. On the other hand, this could reduce GS advertising revenue and elevate the cost of the book beyond affordability.
