Good Sam Travel Assist

Earlier this summer my husband drove our RV to Alaska. Last week while still vacationing in Alaska, my husband suffered a medical emergency that resulted in an ambulance ride and emergency room visit, MRI, EKG, Cat Scan, etc. My husband is now unable to drive for at least 6 months.
In one email, TravelAssist said we qualified for their RV Return Benefits (to our home state of North Carolina).
In their 2nd email, TravelAssist is saying that we do not qualify for the RV Return Benefits.
The back-and-forth emails are continuing.
I'll let you all know how this ends up.

One MUST be cautious when posting on a PUBLIC forum. I'm guessing Good Sam said you'd be covered based on your description above. THEN AFTER reading the following QUOTE, your coverage was denied...you can't have it BOTH ways....two sides to EVERY story....Dennis

Hi, I am new to this so please be patience with me. We are planning (hubby & myself) to drive our new motorhome from the lower 48 to Alaska the end of May or the beginning of June. We will enter Canada thought Montana. We live in Kenai, Ak. If anyone is interested in caravanning, please fell free to contact us @ joyce.minarik@gmail.com.

    Earlier Post

And these are not even quoting those by your husband, "Carrera glider" who also claims he LIVES in Alaska. Those are another read for the travel assist people.

    I would say you've got a snowball's chance...Good luck...:S....Dennis
  • Since you list Kenai as your residence, I'm guessing you have properties in both states and you're perhaps even an Alaskan resident. If that's the case, your husband wouldn't be considered "vacationing" and travel assist would not apply.

Hope your hubby is on the mend.....Dennis
