When I joined Good Sam I did not give my phone # as I did not want sales calls that they are famous for. I made that 100% clear with the rep. But even though I did not give my # they must have taken it off of caller ID and sure enough within a few weeks I get an unsolicited phone call trying to sell me roadside assistance.These are devious and unacceptable practices and continue to give Good Sam a bad reputation.If I want to buy roadside assistance I will buy it from one of the offers I get in the mail every other day.

Pennsylvania Do Not Call.If you call and do business by phone, I think they can then call you with offers.

That's exactly why we'll never buy into Good Sam again. Instead of going to the people that aren't members, they harass members!!!!! and the do not call list is bogus, imho

If you tell them to remove you from their call list then by federal law they have to and if they call you again you can report them to the FTC on their web site.

The Do Not Call List is for individuals who do not have a business relationship with the caller or who have not had a business relationship with the caller in the past.

All should keep this in mind, PRIVACY IS A MYTH. In our connected, electronic world any information anyone wants about you is available for a price or free in many cases. The easiest defense is a telephone that displays the caller and receives messages. Do not answer any calls from unknown callers. They'll leave a message if they really want you. The so-called do not call list only applies to blind calls. Does not apply if you have a business relationship with a caller and if you're a member you have a business relationship.Lastly, I wish this was the most important thing I had to worry about.

If you don't want those type of emails, you set up a dedicated email address for that sort of thing. Then when you have time, you check that email address and delete everything which you don't want. That way, you don't have it showing up in your regular email.

This morning I received my first email advertising for motorcycles. Exactly what I expected: I knew it when I filled in the forms.

I have been a GS member for 10+ years and have never received a phone call, unsolicited mail or e-mail. I guess they just don't like me.

Same thing here. Before joining good Sam club, we had been to rv shows and gave our info in a bunch of the giveaways and never ever once received a call. And to this day, have not received a call soliciting anything from them.

This is why I still have an old fashioned answering machine. Just wait to see who's talkin', and pick up if I want to. Best thing is, most robocall setups will hang up on an answering machine and remove the number from its list automatically.

We get very, very few such calls anymore and have never bothered to sign up for ANY do not call list, nor do we trouble to get our number "removed" from anyone's list.
