Grey water liability?

Since the day I bought my NEW Heartland from Camping World it has leaked grey water, SINCE THE FIRST NIGHT. I didn't realize what the cause was until later. Anyway, I have taken it to be repaired 6 times, 4 times it was actually worked on. Yeah 2 technicians refused to even touch it. Well, it steal leaks grey water all over the place when I shower, even after 4 repair attempts. (the most recent they didn't even bother to connect the threaded coupling under the shower drain, CW Roanoke, VA.)

Question...since discharging grey water is illegal, who would be liable if I take this TT camping, say to Big Bend National Park and it, IT, dumps grey water on the pristine desert environment. That is if I have the Good Sam insurance, is that covered? Need some help here folks.

  • While I understand your frustration, knowingly doing something illegal will most likely cost you in the long run. You didn't say what is wrong with your tank but sometimes replacement may be necessary and less expensive in the long run.
  • You are liable, and the insurance won't pay since it was deliberate and not an accident.

On the other hand, probably the worst that would happen is you'd get a verbal warning and told to get it fixed.
  • I would say YOU are liable. You admit it leaks but, you still knowingly take it to a national park and allow it to dump grey water on the ground.

Probably not the answer you wanted to hear.
