HELP! - Tyre12R20 needed for Overland 4x4 RV

Can anyone help find a tyre for my overland 4x4 RV.
I am an English guy traveling the world with my family, currently in Chicago on route to Halifax Nova Scotia. Stopping in Boston for a few days. My problem started with 2 high speed blowouts, the first in Phoenix, the second in Des Moines. My RV is a converted ex military 4x4 fitted with on/off road tyres. I have traveled extensively through Europe, Africa and central America without a puncture but the freeways in USA have got the better of me.
I have asked several tyre depots for any make of tyre similar to:
Mitchelin XZL
Firestone T831
Goodyear G188A
Wall size 12.00inch, Rim diameter 20inch (12R20)
I am know running without a spare and very concerned what will happen if i get another blowout. Does anyone have an idea how I can find a tyre to fit?
Your help will be appreciated.

  • Thanks for the advice.

Steve at Chicago tyre was very helpful, he found me a tyre that I can use as an emergency spare. I had it fitted at 4:30 this afternoon and resumed my journey.

    Thanks again for the help.

  • Try Chicago tire they service all sorts of heavy equipment and they are where I buy my 8R19.5 tires

  • Good advice to contact a commercial tire place.

    Here's another idea:

Sumitomo makes several 12R20 tires that are sold here in the U.S.A. Link to one dealer. That one's in Virginia, obviously too far for you to go, and in the wrong direction to boot.
    BUT
The company at this link advertises itself as a Sumitomo dealer with locations all over Massachusetts. They're closed on Sunday but you might give them a call in the morning.

    Good Luck!
