Help with various Good Sam accounts?

Monday I received a call from a collection agency about my Good Sam account. I have spent hours on the telephone trying to identify and cancel each Good Sam account I could find since May 2015. My husband had signed up for insurance and campgrounds etc, but when he died I came off the road and canceled it all.

When I call Good Sam I am told my account is in good order--valid until March 2017. (?!) No one seems to know why a collection agency is calling me and the Facebook account where I asked for assistance has been blocked from me.

How do I make it all just go away? Please?!

Hello sorry to hear about your loss.

As far as the collection agency goes to me it sounds like a scam. Ask them to send you proof of the bill my bet is they do not have anything. Do not give them any information. As stated if this is your husband's account in his name only you are not responsible for the bill unless you signed something. As far as I know the Good Sam Club will not go to collections for membership.
Get someone you trust to help you possibly a trusted relative.

As I have stated at this time of year the scum are out there trying to separate you from your money.

If it was me I would tell them to pound sand.

  • If a collection agency called then they got your info from some source (Facebook?) and this is a scam. Don't give any money to anyone you can't verify. Personally, I wouldn't be dealing with this via Facebook. Call the Club directly.

A collection agency calling about unpaid Good Sam dues? Please! What contempt!

It can't be club dues. If the dues aren't paid the person ceases to be a member.

It has to be some insurance that was purchased and may have been on a monthly payment plan. The amount due will accrue for a while before the insurance is canceled.

I am sorry for your loss.

If the accounts in question are in your husband's name ONLY, you are not obligated to pay anything.

Tell them he has died AND not to call you again. There is a Federal law that they must stop when told to.
