Mike,
The letter does not answer the question which is so well put by Godsey97... A little clarification would be helpful.

QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't subscribe you get 4 issues a year FREE.
If you subscribe (I do) you get your subscription "adjusted".
Can someone in the know (Marcus team) explain that to me. Is my yearly subscription to Motorhome going to get exteded 4 months EACH year or just in 2014.
IS a subscriber getting 16 months of the magazine for 12 months price, or is this a 2014 "adjustment" only and then tough cookies?
This sounds a whole lot like fuel prices......Unleaded is at $2.00/gal. Companies want it at $2.50/gal so they run the price up to $3.00/gal., people scream and kick, price goes down to $2.50/gal and people are dancing in the street thinking they are getting a steal. Process repeates until we are at nearly $4.00/gal. I am getting the same gut feeling with GS club and their "benefits"...whats next on the chopping block.
Thanks for your post. In February, 2014 current subscribers who are active Good Sam members will have their subscriptions extended 4 months. This is a onetime event. In addition, current subscribers (who are Good Sam members) will be offered discounted renewal rates in the future. I hope this clears up the confusion.
Thanks,

Thats the claification I was after. Thanks. A one time extension and then "discount" renewals. That seems reasonable. The original message was either unclear about "post 2014" on the subscribers end, or I was not getting it.
I guess it does not matter as we are lifetime members and don't get a refund if we cancel so we have to just go with the flow as we can't "vote with our wallets" any longer.
This has taught me a lesson about making sure I make sure programs are thoroughly vetted before I pay and sign up for a lifetime anymore.
People don't like change, I get that. Folks in my profession are even more averse to change, so that is probably most of it I guess, but it seems like several of the "benefits" of membership are dwindling.
Thanks for all the follow-up and we all know you can't make everyone happy. We should be happy with the fact that you are constantly trying I guess.
And for the record, at least in my case, it is not "just" the magazine change that is troubling, it is the feeling that "what is next". It's not the heavy pack that broke the camels back, it was that "last straw".
