  • Thanks pappappy - we are in the process of changing all vehicles/motor home and house to National General. Been with my present company for over 40 years, so it is a big 'change' that we are undertaking. Our present company didn't offer motor home 'storage' rates, so we changed to NG (GMAC) and now we are in the next transfer stage.
  • NG is/was GMAC insurance. They are in the process of changing their name.

I had a problem with my RV policy (trying to get online to make payments), and had mentioned it on this forum, and low and behold, a couple of days later, I get a call from one of their Reps, who had figured out what my problem had been, and told me how to make sure it didn't happen again. Above and beyond Customer Service as far as I'm concerned.

My Daughter has GMAC/NG insurance on her car, and has had no problems with regard to a couple of damages that were taken care of. I was surprised on one of them, because she was completely at fault (misjudged a turn into the driveway), and it was taken care of without issue.

Now, how they are with their Homeowners Insurance is an unknown as far as I'm concerned, but I can't help but think that if they are operating in a certain manner for these other policies, they will continue to do the same with the HO policy.

Hopefully, others who actually have the HO policy will comment....but, on the other hand, with HO policies, you can go decades without incident, so would you really know if they are good or not? I've had Allstate on our home for almost 30 years, and only filed one claim about 20 years ago. Are they good? They were 20 years ago:)
