- 2gypsies1Explorer IIII'd like to see a place for folks to fill in what size rig they had when staying in the campground. Having only a 'big rig' checkbox doesn't help. Some people with a 24' RV might consider a site suitable for a 36' a big rig site.
- docjExplorerRVParkReviews.com is now owned by Social Knowledge, the parent company for numerous discussion forums including the Airtstream Forum and IRV2. The ownership change took place several months ago and currently we are in the process of migrating the site to a new server that will provide the capability for major improvements. The existing server was very limited in its capabilities and, as a result, the website is a bit dated in appearance.
Over time, starting in a couple of months, you will see the site change its overall appearance as it takes on a more modern look. At that time some of the review "questions" will change, for example, we will no longer ask whether modem support is available but we will be asking about cellular service (for each carrier that you can provide info about). In addition, a phone app is being developed and will be released later this year.
If anyone has ideas about changes you would like to see, let me know, either via this thread or by PM. Even though much of the development has been completed, we still have some flexibility and can always consider your ideas for future upgrades. - Dog_FolksExplorerI also would like to know when ownership changed.
I may give them another chance. - wbwoodExplorer

No person representing RVParkReviews should ever contact someone in the manner you describe. If such a contact did happen it would have been inappropriate and would have totally violated established policies and procedures. If you have specific information regarding this supposed incident please send it to me via PM and I promise it will be fully investigated.

Here is the thread that the information came from;
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27110717/srt/pa/pging/1/page/1.cfm
This thread is a year old and none of the people making accusations in it have the same user names on RVParkReviews so it's impossible for me to do any independent research on the subject. Therefore, I'm not going to pursue this particular matter any further.
However, I am serious that we encourage anyone with some specific issues to bring them either to my attention or to send them to the Contact Us link on the RVParkReviews website.
I emailed RV Park Reviews about it and pointed to the thread mentioned and they said they would look into. Never got a response about it. And this was back when it happened. Perhaps you could PM the OP of that thread and ask them about it and what their user name is on RV Parks Review and then check into it.
With the change in ownership and management that recently took place on RVPR, I don't see any benefit to tracking down a supposed incident that took place a year ago. I'm willing to vouch for the fact that such situations would not occur today and invite anyone to provide evidence to the contrary.
When did ownership change? - docjExplorer

The other issue that occurs, and this is not the fault of the site, is that often,I find reviews that are two years old or more, nothing current. Too many things could have changed in the meantime.
Old news is no news.
You're entirely correct but, of course, we can't control when people visit parks and submit reviews. One thing we are considering is a system that might rate more recent reviews more than older ones in determining and overall rating for a park. Of course, many people prefer to read the detailed reviews rather than relying on numerical ratings, but for those that like the numerical this ought to make it more accurate. - docjExplorer

I will not post to RV Park reviews either. Too easy for them to manipulate the reviews and posters are much too arbitrary in what they consider good/bad often without supporting information.
Do you have any actual evidence that reviews on RVParkReviews are manipulated? As one of the site admins I can attest to the fact that reviews are never altered except to remove personal information, correct spelling, etc. If a review is considered to need more substantial alteration it is returned to the person who submitted it.
Not sure about manipulated, but someone mentioned on here before that they were contacted by someone from RVparkreviews and said that they wanted them to talk to a campground owner. They said the campground owner was a nice person and blah blah blah. I sent an email to RV Park Reviews questioning it and got a reply saying they would look into it. But then never got an answer back to them checking into it. This was after a reviewer gave a negative review or something. Can't remember exactly as it was a while back. If that in fact did happen, then I think that would abuse on part of the website or those representing the website. By using the persons contact information and trying to sway the reviewers viewpoint. Obviously the person who sent the message had a relationship with the campground owner of some type.
