We have never had a problem with it. As you know C2C is a membership only group and their first obligation is to their home park members so there may be times that are blacked out for guests so to accommodate their home members, especially at the more popular destinations like the NC coast.
Using the on line reservation system is easy once you get familiar with it. It also tells you availability for the chosen dates. There are some parks in the system that do take transient travelers too for over night stays so that may be a factor also.
