I dumped Good Sam membership due to the excessive junk mail I recieved. Back then I waspaying my lawyers office to deal with my mail. So not only was I paying lawyer rates to read and toss my junk mail, everytime they got a new person to work the mail, I ended up paying for the junk mail to be forwarded. It's why I will not have Good Sam ever again. I have noticed that I am far from the only fulltime RVer who has that opinion. Perhaps if they could curtail their junk mail, they would have more folks joining them. Don't they still have a magazine? Why can't they stick their offers there? To be an RVing group, you would think they would be aware of the problems excessive mailings create. The alternative is that they know exactly what problems it creates and they just don't care. I think it is the latter attitude as opposed to the former.
When I hit the road full time GS had sent SO much mail within one month that my post office closed my po box. After so much is delivered and does not fit 'in' your po box they have the right to close your box.
Lost my po box number and since i was on the road and personally could not be there in person, which is required, to open another one I was then on the road RV'ing without a po box for my mail.
I just still don't understand how they can keep up this copious amount of direct mail when they KNOW the members do not want it.
I still think they are profiting real big time when unsuspecting members pay an addition fee based on those pieces of mail that say urgent your membership has expired when it has not. That one I think is the lowest of lowest direct mail.
