When we bought a bunch of stuff from CW last September they asked us to join the Good Sam club which we did. I expected a follow up email with membership info and offers for discounts on products or a book listing campgrounds that give a Sam's club discount, or a package by mail. We didn't get anything at all until this week when an envelope arrived with a membership card and a request to sign up for roadside assistance. The card expires in 7 days! This doesn't give me confidence that membership would be worthwhile. What does membership entail? Is it just the discount at CW?

Mostly a lot of junk mail for insurance and RA. Discounts at CW mean you still pay more for stuff than you would elsewhere. And AARP or AAA get the same campground discounts.

Log on the CW Web site, and register.

We seldom shop at Camping World and have never purchased an RV there.
We do get an occasional campground discount.
We do use the Pilot/Flying J discount.
We have never purchased any other products or services from Good Sam Enterprises.

We DO belong to Good Sam because we love the club. We are very active in our local chapter and are former officers. We are active on the state level and attend Samborees. We joined the Good Sam CLUB, all other discounts and products are of no real consequence to us. If we were not active in the CLUB, there would be no reason to be a member.

Not sure if they do or not. But we are Life members and also have roadside service platinum + until 2020. Never had to use the roadside. We just got a card in the mail the other day for $10 off any item at Camping World. They use to put it on the catalogs, but not sure if they are still doing that or not. Happens yearly.

A Long time ago credit card companies used this tactic until they were forced to stop by law.

It is just a marketing tool based on the FACT that if you get a real card in the peoples hands your chances of them signing up increase dramiaically.
