when I was one of the 12 members of the good sam park advisory council during the restructure.
Ann, editor of the now Good Sam travel guide, used to be Trailer Life, proposed several different 'looks' for Sam to us.
We all thought modernizing Sams look to a politically correct visage was premature and unwarranted given that the concept is one of charity, goodwill and friendship to all who travel in camping units.
Sam has retained his dated recognizible welcoming look.
They must think changing the logo will attract younger and more diverse groups of members? I'm a believer that the logo won't appeal to more people if modernized. I believe it's about service, content, marketing, and keeping up with what the original intent of the club?
Good Sam may one day die a slow death, but I really doubt a logo makeover will change that. Keep the politics out of it and keep your finger on the pulse of the camping community.
Yes, a welcoming look in deed :-)
