Insurance
Several years ago when we bought our TT, we went through CWINC to get the insurance. They set us up through Allied (a Nationwide Company). The price was great. Renewed the next couple of years. Last year, we bought a golf cart and went through Allied for its insurance. Just renenwed it. The pop up camper, we bought a couple months ago, we insured through Allied at a great price.
Fast forward to our recent motor home purchase. We traded in both the pop up and the TT. The TT was stored at the beach 4 hours away and CW was sending a driver to get it. When I called for the insurance on the motorhome, the TT was back yet, so I wanted to keep insurance on it. Well we went through whole shebang with the nicest insurance rep. Got to the end and it gave an error. Apparently in the state of NC, you can't have a TT and a motor home on the same policy. He couldn't do the seperate policy and gave me the number for CWINC. I called them and was given a quote of nearly $1100/year. When I said "WHOOAAA!!!", she asked if that was a good whoaa or bad whoaa? I told her a bad one and that when the finance guy talked to the insurance company on saturday, that we were looking at about half that amount. She asked through who and I told her Allied. She said she would try through Allied. She came back with a quote of less than $500/year for the same coverage.
So, let this be a lesson for those seeking insurance. Have them check with other insurance companies if going through GS/CW insurance. Don't just accept the first one they tell you, unless you feel it's a good deal.
