I joined GS because it was required before we could join a local camping club. We use Passport America's 50% discount as we travel for one night stays along the way. We also joined FMCA because of their many benefits for members. We occasionally visit Camping World stores when convenient and receive a 10% discount on merchandise because of our GS membership but it's not worth going out of our way.
FMCA is the only large nonprofit RV club operated for the benefit of its membership. The repatriation insurance included with membership is worth more than the yearly dues of $50 but we also enjoy many of the other benefits available to members.
I notified GS to keep my name off their barrage of advertising mail that only ends up in my trashcan anyway.
Our camping club is like an extended family to us and a reason to use our MH on a regular basis.
