Keeping in mind that a very large percentage (most likely, the majority) of us are notretired and use the weekends to do our taveling, I would expect the hours of operation to be a significant consideration.
Perhaps the option to pay more for weekend service?
And keep in mind that most shops operate Monday thru Saturdays 8am- 5pm and Saturdays 8am to noon and do deserve time off. I know when traveling s*** happens but it's not the garages fault they happen to be closed when you break down. I don't know of any mechanics in my area that are open past noon on Saturdays and neither on Sunday. Yes I have been traveling and had breakdowns and had to wait til Monday for a garage to open. It sucks but what else can you do but wait.
Again, I would not dictate that all shops must stay open to service my s*** happening. But I would be willing to pay more to a shop that could put me on the road quicker. Whenever you have an issue wheather it be your car, house, camper, etc. What are the primary concers? Personally I want to know 1) how much? And 2) when can it be done? Sometimes I can wait and pay less, other times I dont mind paying more for "emergency service".
If I'm 6 hours from home and a hotel cost my 100.00 per night and there is an option to pay someone an extra 150.00 to get me back on the road Satuday.......... thats some real easy math, right?
Also consider that the business has a 24/7 emergency phone number that they are not answering, and the OP left the keys with them.
