Look for a different insurance company....But most, if not all, will say the same thing. Weight matters.

A Class 6 truck is definitely not a personal vehicle, no matter how you slice it. Many MANY years ago when I was in commercial insurance a good number of my clients found out that if a 1-ton pickup/flatbed could do the job, it was tremendously cheaper to insure than anything larger.

Insurance regulations are governed by state insurance commissions and vary from state to state. There are many Escapees (active on the Escapees MDT subforum) who pull with the FL60 and insure them as private, not-for-hire vehicles (many of them in Texas, I'm sure). You might pop over to the Escapees forums and ask them for some advice.

Thank you all for the feedback. I found personal insurance with two companies Good Sam has one and thank you Good Sam for the quote with one of the companies that work with RVs.

Just a note if you are not making money with a vehicle it is a personal vehicle by definition. Most insurance companies want to lump everyone into same category. I call that lazy. Lots of 1 ton commercial vehicles out there also.
