If you have the basic service, their obligation is to tow to the nearest facility "capable and willing" to repair the problem. Anything beyond that is your responsibility. Sounds to me they are reimbursing you for the cost of a tow to the "nearest and willing" repair facility.
Ya I have to agree here too.
They offered you a GM dealership which they would have paid for the full tow. And how lucky that you were that close to a GM shop. Albeit you didn't take the offer and insisted on a further away shop. I think GS is being very generous offering you the 200.00.
The operator wanted to tow me to a dealer 3 miles away because they service GM products. I tried to explain this is a TZE chassis that is 41 years old and there just isn't that much service available on them. She insisted they could service it because it is GM.
Honestly just 'assuming' that shop could not work on your coach is what caused the problem not GS. Mechanics are not stupid they can work on any age vehicle. Just saying I certainly would not have opted for a 800+ tow when I could have had it towed for free by GS to a GM dealer.
Me thinks your 'antique' RV service man has you bamboozled that only he can work on your RV. :W:W
