Regarding GEICO, we had an absolute nightmare with them and switched.
We have had Sate Farm for many years now and have had excellent service. They came out on a claim for a previous trailer and wrote a check on the spot for the claim. When the repair came in over by a small amount they paid the shop that day over the phone.
I think people have problems with all insurance companies and I believe the best help you can get is when you have a good relationship with your agent. My agent called me when I had a claim and checked up on it to make sure I was being taken care of. When I had an increase on my policy a few years ago, he called me and told me to not worry that he would fix it and he did.
So, when people look around constantly trying to save a buck they lose that personal touch from a long relationship with the agent.
Then again maybe I'm just lucky to have found one who really cares.
