The sad thing is that your premium with national general is probably twice as much as other insurance companies and yet, you are not receiving much better service for that higher premium.
So, which ones are cheaper? I first had my TT insured through Progressive, then Allstate, and then GMAC/National and they came through and paid out a claim only 6 weeks into the policy!
National is the cheapest of the 3. If there are others that are "half the price" I would love to know because I'm naturally a cheapskate.
Last year, we were quoted about $900/year for insurance on our Class C through NG. We asked to be quoted through Allied (Nationwide Company). The quote was in the $400-500 range. A coworker just bought a Class C. He called and was immediately quoted through NG of a price in the $800 range. He asked about Allied. They came back with $400. I asked an executive with the CW insurance division as to why they automatically quote through NG. He told me that they are not supposed to quote through NG first, but to give the lowest quote, no matter which company it is. They have several they underwrite for. Well I know and my friend, knows that what he said isn't the truth. Either that or they have employees that are not trustworthy to the patrons. One thing he did say that I felt is the truth, is that NG pays out the highest commissions. He also said that NG provides the most comprehensive coverage and largest discounts to good sam members. Hmmmm if I remember right, they did the same coverage when I called and when my friend called, they quoted him on both companies based on the same answers he gave. And I find it hard to believe that there is any discount in there to GS members.
