New cards not received, CS not helpful

A while back I joined GS plus RA and after the "discounts" didn't work at CW, the cards didn't arrive, it took DAYS to activate the membership, and generally the left hand blamed the right hand...
We cancelled. Then after several weeks without a refund, we were less than patient. Finally got our money back, but... :(
I can call PA State Parks reservation system (a GOVERNMENT endeavor!) and they make my RSVP over the phone and I get an email confirmation many times within a few minutes.
A big place like GS that takes WEEKS to get the account and cards out is...lazy and shameful.
BTW, the latest mailings from GS have *almost* convinced me to try again, but all the problems using the fuel discounts, getting the cards, and the multi-week delays in getting full membership benefits is convincing me to wait until the system gets flushed of the blockages.
Good Sam Club is a great idea. They have made some vast improvements in the detailing of their bnefits, but man, they really need an overhaul in the "mechanical room."
Doesn't matter how nice the interior or the paint job, if the car doesn't start and get you from A to B without a bunch of hassle, it really isn't much good.
Pay attention, GS. You need to *deliver* on your offers and do so in a reasonable timeframe.
