New Circular GS Insurance Add

Just got the new CW/GS savngs circular, and first page is about how much GS insurance can save me.
Question to M. Lemonis, who is urging me to buy---
Had GS insurance under Nat Gen. My rate went up for no reason this year, from $560 ish to $640 ish, so I did not renew, going with Progressive for $440 ish for even better/more coverage than I was getting with Nat Gen.
Your add states I will save an average of $320 per year if I sign up as a new policy holder.
Does that mean you'll only be charging me $120 per year???
Sounda great.
Also, if this could be considered my quote, could you just PM me my $10.00 CW merchandise cirtificate???
Thanks,
Grumpy

  • I like how they automatically quote you through NGI (National General Insurance) first when you call, even though Bob Fulcher, VP of GSI told me in a private message...

You are partially correct in your assumption. National General does pay higher commissions compared to the other carriers we represent. They also provide the most comprehensive coverage and the largest discounts for Good Sam members. That being said, my instructions to our agents has been to present National General first only if the price is competitive with the other companies; presenting NGIC when they are twice as high is a definite error by the agent. NGIC is also the only company that we presently have available for online quoting. If someone requests a quote from our website, they will get a NGIC quote.

Thanks for your message and your business.

So they are instructed to go with NGI only when the price is competitive. Which is funny, because when I called them and didn't like the price they gave me through NGI, I asked them to quote me through Allied, which I had previously. They had to go back and gather all the information from me to give me that quote. Why would they need to do that if they were going to offer me the best competitive price? By the way, NGI was twice as high as the Allied quote..... I believe the true answer was in the 2nd sentence about NGI payign the highest commissions....
  • Yeah, right. When I contacted GS/National General, I was told it was an across the board raise in rates, and there was nothing that could be done.
Wait!!! Do I hear...Do I see...Yes, it's Rod Sterling...I must be...Yes, I have entered the Twilight Zone!!! Its the area one enteres when dealing with GS.

  • Hello Grumpy374,
Great Question Grumpy374. The only folks who would have an answer are the trained insurance agents at National General. I would suggest contacting them at 1-800-325-1190 for a quote.
Have a good evening....Rudy, Good Sam Response Team.
  • I'm going to hold out until I get an offer to save me more than what I'm paying now. Then I'll be covered and they'll owe me money!!!

  • Allstate used to put out ads like that. Think they still do. Back in the 70s they beat my present insuranse at that time by a lot. I switched over. Next bill came in higher than my previous insurance. They love to play games.
