That is true, however, the fills for the tanks are usually located well away from the pumps so the tractor trailers aren't maneuvering around gas pumps.
I do agree that the savings is pretty much a wash since the Flying J's do tend to be more expensive but sometimes it's worth it (to me) for the extra space and easy in and out.
You are right about some stations yes this is the case. But not in all by any means. And in many cases the trucks have to go thru the pumps to position themselves correctly to the dumps.
In any case my point was that if you can get those trucks into the lot there is enough room for RV's of any size to maneuver in the vast vast majority of stations.
In my own experience the few times I have used Fly J/Pilot there have been so many trucks backed up I couldn't even get to the RV Pumps. (And it is their domination of the market for Truck Stops that allows their very high prices.)
