Newish member

Hi all,

Wife and I paid for a Good Sam membership back in February. Expected to hear something within a couple of weeks, such as a welcome packet and maybe a membership card. It is now nearly June, and I have yet to receive anything other than junk mail. Every day my e-mail and snail mail are flooded with offers and garbage, but absolutely NOTHING that actually pertains to my membership.

I have reached out to Good Sam on more than one occasion and have been met with total silence.

Is there anyone that can give me one good reason why I should continue with Good Sam? NOT impressed so far!

  • Have you tried downloading the app? Or go online and register your membership number, then update your profile with your email, etc. You can live chat with someone, I hope this helps. I purchased a four-year extended warranty through Camping World where I bought my RV. So I have peace of mind, knowing that if anything goes wrong or breaks in my RV, I have a $200 deductible and my refrigerator, my AC unit, a slide will be repaired and replaced. Let us know if you find any good alternative, I know we have an actual agent at the TAMPA Camping World, in Dover, Florida. You could try calling them and ask for an agent that literally works there and has an office that I sat down with and talked to believe his name is John.

  • I’m am very much in the same boat. Nothing mailed to me.  Also this message board is very hit and miss miss. My fault as i don’t check it a ton. But I am not all that impressed with good Sam’s communication or responsiveness. Kind of disappointed but not sure what to do about it.  If you hear from them. Might mention there are others out here too that would like to get what was offered. Good luck and if I hear something I’ll send them your way

Recently got on FB after many many years, mainly to join up in the RV life and Camping World since I’m now a fifth wheel owner. I’m finding a lot of the groups on there are very communicative, they have admin who run the groups, and I get responses usually within minutes. People post pictures of the problems they’re having, and offer solutions, and even links to options like what to do when you’re not running propane gas, how do you heat your RV, etc. etc. etc. My insurance through PROGRESSIVE, my finance is through MARINE ONE. I have a 24 hour tech line, and I can call in the middle of the night if an alarm goes off and someone is there to walk me through the options and have helped me many times since I’ve purchased my RV. Hope you find what you’re looking for, best wishes

  • Visit a camping world & explain your situation.  They will get you squared away.

Yes, they have a Good Sam agent at the Dover FLORIDA, McIntosh Road in the TAMPA Camping World.

  • ddcwho: Did you actually pay for the insurance and have a cancelled check to show they cashed it?

  • Sorry that no one came back to help. I will list the message I received from a moderator. I will not supply his name.

Message: "Although I help moderate the forum, I have no connection to Good Sam. I appreciate the contacts I have made through the forum and try to share what I learned while learning new things from other members. Personally, I believe GS is going through internal changes and there is more happening than we see. The way people interact with other has changed and not always for the better. The respect and helpfulness of the past is sadly declining in the younger generation. What do you think I can do for ddcwho in my unofficial capacity? "

  • I notified one on the monitors here to help you out. Please watch for a reply. 😊
