Positive final result

I'll start with the positive outcome to my story. Today I recieved reimbursment from Good Sam roadside service. When I posted requesting clarification on what GS will payfor in a roadside service call Mark responded with info and worked to clear up a misunderstanding over a bill I submitted to GS for a reimbursement. The Roadside repair guy had written the bill for his trip to where I was beoken down in a manner not clear to GS.
I recieved partial repayment. When I called to question the amount I got nowhere.
After I reported my problem to Mark I recieved a call from a customer service representative and after some back and forth she agreed to pay the total amount.
Good that I finally got whet was promised. Good that there is sort of an appeals process.
Un fortunate that it took a month. 26 year member.

The bad part is that the problem started with an air brake/spring brake failure that left me unable to move MH. Call to GS roadside service was handled promptly but they were unable to locate anyone in the area(Casey IL)who could respond. The final suggestion was for me to find someone if I could. Finally, after hours, I was able to locate a great guy who showed up and did the repair (GS was not responsible for the cost of the repair, no problem there).
In ability of GS to provide responders to breakdowns seems to be a growing problem.
Maybe GS pays too little to attract the service folks. Maybe they neeed to charge more and fund the service better. I don't know that answer. The guy I located said that trucking companies use a number of web sites and services to get responder to breakdowns. He is listed with a number of them.
The phone people for Good Sam were great and stayed in contact but seemed to be using basic seach tools that any smart phone would have. They need better tools. I broke down near Effingham,IL, one fo the busiest interstate intersections in the US, yet no service providers could be found.?

  • Thank you for the update! It's refreshing to see especially since only the complaints are posted here but nothing, till you, as to what their outcome was with GS. Thanks again!

  • Yep, most people only report the bad stuff but we've had nothing but good service from both Good Sam Road side and extended service plan.

Not closed as I have responded.
Glad to see someone report a good (eventually) response.
