Been driving now for 50 years, and knock on wood have only had 3 accidents, and they weren't my fault. So, hopefully I'll never need to use Progressive, or any other insurance co.
Granted, Progressive may not be the best at paying up, but I've got an ace up my sleeve. My son is an attorney. And me, I'm a retired cop, specialized in traffic accident investigation and reconstruction, so I know how the game is played.
And, I don't mind increase's, but a 15% jump in one year is a bit much. My regular home and auto co, Travelers, hasen't raised my rates in 10 years, they even lowered my auto rates for being a good driver. Unfortunately, they don't insure rv's.
It's not the lousey $80 bucks. Hell, that's only 1/2 tank of gas. It's the principal.
My beef with GS/NG is they wouldn't even try to work with me, basically told me pay up or go. So, I went.

Relax.....
I've heard nothing but good things about Progressive.
X3 They wrote me a check on the spot and then I found a repair shop
I still have Progressive on my RV and motorcycles. Had my first Progressive RV policy with full replacement coverage on a brand new unit that was totaled by a sleepy trucker. The local Progressive Agent who surveyed the damage and handled the claim explained to me how the trucker's insurance company would try playing the game with me and told me I didn't have to go thru it if I didn't want to, and all I had to do was tell him to settle the claim for me. I decided to give the other side a chance and making things right, but the Progressive Agent was spot on. After a few discussions I picked up the phone and told Progressive I wanted them to handle the claim. Their check was waiting in my mailbox by the time I made it back home. And with my replacement RV the rates even went down a bit, just like with my motorcycles. Oh, Progressive gives me a multi-vehicle discount on the RV because of the motorcycles. LOL
