OK this is Pops again following up with our situation with the hail damage claim with the Good Sam insurance that is National General. First of all it needs to be understood that the hail storm that hit Colorado Springs July 28 was massive and repair shops are all back up doing repairs still.
National General refereed us to a family owned RV repair shop that does work with/for them because Camping World here could only give us an appointment for Oct 18.
National General did send this RV shop a check for $7,125 for the repairs out on Aug 23 based on what the adjuster they sent wrote up. The check is made out to us and this RV shop. We did bring it back with us and is now in our possession.
We got an appointment with this RV repair shop for them to inspect the damage for yesterday Sept 7, This is the time line in how long it is taking us to get the needed repairs done.
The owner of the RV repair shop did tell us he does do work for National General but is not happy with the way the are doing business. He said they are not doing right by the customer in the hail damage to the roofs.
He said he was rejecting to do the work for us under the guidelines National General has been giving him. They only want to pay for what he said was cosmetic repair of the roof and using a less expensive product than the OEM TPO roof we have.
I am totally confused as reading the report they sent him it states to replace OEM Rubber Roof $1,260. So OEM to me means we get what we have replaced with what we had, no substitutes.
The owner of the RV shop said we would not be served well buy this deal so said he was also thinking about dropping doing any future work for National General. He also pointed out the claim said $95/hr and it is $120/hr
So we contacted our National General Insurance representative and explained all this and now are waiting to hear back from them on where we go from here
