Reliability of insured vehicles

Naturally providing roadside assistance is a huge business expense, a large financial risk for the provider.

I would be interest in knowing if and how Good Sam is handling coverage requested for units which are improperly maintained, and therefore causing assistance (and expenses) for assistance.

Our coach is dealership (chassis) and RV service center (body) maintained, inspected annually and without any issues.

If we need assistance, it would be for something out-of-the-ordinary.

It is unfair for the few (or more) of us who keep their RV in top shape to have to cover such expenses.

  • In most if not all forms of insurance the folks who don’t use the insurance help pay for those that do. It’s one reason your premiums go up even if you’ve never filed a claim. Premiums go up for myriad of reasons unrelated to your situation. In 45 plus years I’ve never filed a homeowner claim but premiums keep going up. I don’t like it but that’s the way it is.
  • Thinking of entering the RV insurance business, Mr. Doe? Or just have some time to speculate naturally?
  • Actually the way insurance works is that if you are availing of the services more often, you get hit with higher premiums on renewals. If your unit is well maintained, you premium stays the same or you become more attractive for discounted or lower rates for other insurers.
