Doubt if owners of privately owned RV parks will ALLOW anyone else to make their reservations.

A Good Sam park is a marketing affiliation. The Good Sam Companies do not own the parks, do not have a say in the management of the parks, they do not take reservations or otherwise engage in the operations of any park. Each park is privately owned and each park handles their own reservations, web pages and any other advertising. Marcus isn't going to be able to fix this one.

This is Ann Emerson, and I work with the Good Sam Park Network. I wanted to let you know that we are actively seeking an online reservation solution for our Good Sam Parks and are meeting with several companies who specialize in providing online reservations to campgrounds. We know this is important for our members. Is it your preference to always make reservations online versus over the phone (or just driving in to a park)? online is usually easier and faster. I called Interlakerv park and only got a recoding. I sent and email and received a response 10 hours later - still waiting for a confirmed reservation. on yea their reservation is also down - crashes on the 3rd page of reservation - not a good way to start a season - 9.5 GS rating too!

Especially with all of the reserve america scams!

I agree with dodgerdog....if you are online already (accessing the GS website) and do not see the information you want, then just do a search with your favorite search engine. Or if you see an email address and it ends in something like "interlakervpark.com", that gives a pretty good indication that their website address will be "www.nterlakervpark.com".

Does that mean Resorts of Distinction is a sham?

You may request a reservation at any of our outstanding resorts, by booking one through your MyROD account by clicking here. All reservation information will be verified and you will be contacted with a confirmation.

Seems to me that affiliated parks can access a common reservation system.

Online is great for the times you can pre-plan overnight, but phone is handy when you're on the road and have to change plans.

Please provide both, if feasible.

There are several different ways parks are incorporating online reservations into their businesses -- some are offering real time reservations and some are doing a variation of real time. We want to offer our Good Sam Parks the tools to provide Good Sam members 'real time' reservations, so you can book a site at your convenience and know it's a confirmed booking. While we can't make our Good Sam Parks offer this kind of online reservation service, we can make the necessary software and tools available to them - helping them with this piece of their business and meeting Good Sam members' needs.
