Someone suggested to us go with DishTV for the initial 2 years, then cancel. Then go with DirectTV for 2 years, then cancel. Then go back to DishTV as a new account and keep bouncing back and forth every 2 years. ... (um ... we finally canceled both and don't do any now).
It does not seem right to offer a dynamite offer to NEW customers and existing customers get screwed over. But it happens in every business.
That is what we in the cable industry call a switch customer. As someone that has been in the cable tv industry for 11 years I cannot tell you how many times I have gone back and forth to the same house for a disconnect and then a reconnect. All so they can get the latest package deal.
